A Fiddler on the roof … Sounds crazy, no?

In a little village of Anatevka you might say everyone is a fiddler on the roof, trying to scratch out a pleasant simple tune without breaking his neck.

It isn’t easy.

You may ask, Why do you stay up there if it’s so dangerous?

We stay because Anatevka is our home.

And, how do we keep our balance?

That I can tell you in one word… TRADITION

Because of our balance we have survived for so many many years…

Celine:

What about our birthday tradition?

Jeli:

We sing  birthday songs???

Where does it come from???

Simply from TRADITION!!!

Hawaiian dancing is very easy. First you bend your knees and sway your hips. You listen to the music and interpret the song. Shall we try it. Let’s have fun… Please stand everyone… It does not matter if you can bend your knees or not as long as you can count one two three. It’s always one two three to the right and one two three to the left. You follow me like a mirror. I’ll start with the left so you can start with your right. This is mirror-image dancing. We will interpret the Hukilau song. The song is about paddling and fishing the ama ama. Let’s try first without the music. Now, music please… Thank you.

(Rhemy with the two boys  with  torches roam around the hall to the sound of  tahitian chant while the girls prepare the Tahitian head dress)
